story: Every day Paul Benjamin buys his cigarettes in Auggie Wren’s cigar store. They don’t know each other, because Paul is just a customer. Auggie often reads books and in one of them he noticed an article about Paul Benjamin in which stands that he is a great author. The next time, when Paul comes into the store, Auggie speaks to him about the article. After talking Auggie invites Paul to look at some photos which he takes at the same time every day. They go into a room being in the store where Auggie explains to him the meaning of the photos. After looking at the photos, they talk for hours whenever Paul comes to the store. One day Paul enters the store and tells Auggie that he needs a Christmas story. He asks him for help. So Paul invites him to have lunch where Auggie tells him a true Christmas story which is a real experience of his own life. Paul is very enthusiastic about the story and writes it down. film: Paul Benjamin comes to Auggie Wren’s cigar store every day. Auggie knows that Paul is a great writer but since the death of his wife, he hasn’t got any ideas for new stories. One evening Paul is the last customer in Auggie Wren’s store and so Auggie invites him to come home with him, because he wants to show Paul his photos, which are his life project and his pride and joy. The photos show different people and different seasons, but always the same place and a church steeple showing that it is always the same time, too! On one picture Paul notices his dead wife and that’s why he begins to cry. After this meeting they talk a lot and a friendship begins. Some days later when Paul gets an instruction to write a Christmas story he hasn’t an idea as usual. So he asks Auggie for help. They go to a restaurant and while eating Auggie tells Paul his story. Paul is very interested and writes it down. This story helps him to find an idea for his new book!
